Volunteer Nunavut is an initiative supported by volunteers and volunteer organizations in Nunavut. We are a group of like-minded people who are committed to improving the lives of others through our acts of giving freely in relevant, helpful ways.

Some of our goals are to recognize the many ways in which a person can volunteer, support volunteers and encourage people to give of their time to their community to make it a better place. Please browse our site to learn more about us and what we do.

What is Volunteerism?

Volunteerism is the spirit of helping, giving and serving freely to people and groups who make our communities a better place. Volunteers give their time and skills to make this world a better place for their communities and themselves.

Why are volunteers important?

Volunteers are important because they fill in the gaps where government programming are missing. They provide services that wouldn’t otherwise be available.
